Founded in 2024 by Ken Johnson also known as The Thrifty Apprentice and The Paper Alchemist, DeFyant Arts Creative Studio is a small privately-owned art supply online retailer. DeFyant Arts was started with a mission to spread art for the love of art, and to encourage artist from all walks of life to simply, ‘Just Keep Creating”! Since our founding, we've expanded to many platforms, with a mission to provide artists with the highest quality materials at the most thrifty of prices.
At DeFyant Arts Creative Studio, we believe in the power of art to transform lives. That's why we're committed to supporting artists and art education programs on many online platforms. We're also passionate about sustainability and reducing our environmental impact.
Meet the Instructor
My name is Kenyatta (Ken) Johnson and I hold true to the amazing power that art has to unite us in a wonderful, common, and positive goal. My motto “Just Keep Creating” is one that encourages artist of all ages and levels to push their imagination to the limits.
Exploring the joy of mixed media in a unique way has been my goal for many years. I have combined my love of watercolor, and all other mediums with my love for journal making to bring you a wonderful world of mixed media creativity. This are community has been carefully thought out to make creating exciting.
It is my hope that the love put into this creative community will pour through this site and all platforms connected to DeFyant Arts. It is my hope that this artistic love will help to make your creation experience that much more enjoyable. So drop your guard, forget all the rules, and have fun as you simply “Just Keep Creating”!
